The collection ‘Bygone Days’ draws inspiration from the elements and warmth of the past, evoking a sense of nostalgia. It seeks to rekindle the old-school romance that once captured our hearts. We've all slipped a flower between the pages of a book, a simple act of preservation—of memory, of beauty, of a time that can be revisited whenever the book is opened again. But as time passed and life quickened, these tender moments have become rare.
Fabric
The fabric reflects our deep affection for tactile and emotional qualities of textile that not only look exquisite. Its drapability and feel against the skin are reminiscent of a bygone era's romance. Each print is born from diverse inspirations, forming stories in our minds until an element resonates deeply enough to guide our design.
Colours
In designing this collection, we have thoughtfully interplayed colors to create contrasts and harmonies to evoke a sense of nostalgia while embracing contemporary aesthetics. This collection is a celebration of timeless romance and sustainable craftsmanship.
Vintage Floral Print
The journey began with a vision to capture the essence of old, cherished volumes, where time had softened the pages to a gentle sepia hue. Through meticulous experimentation, we blended soft, muted tones to create the background.
Our exploration of floral arrangements was inspired by the delicate beauty of flowers pressed between book pages—keepsakes of the past and memories of plucking flowers for our grandparents' prayers. We sought to infuse the design with both personal history and emotional depth, aiming to capture the fragility and grace of these preserved blooms.
After several iterations, we developed a flat-lay arrangement in pale pinks and gentle yellows, with each bloom carefully placed to evoke a sense of tender nostalgia.
Checks print
Drawing from times gone by, we explored the textures and patterns of vintage textiles, revisiting the iconic designs that evoke the familiar touch of a passed-down blanket.
Inspired by the soft, comfortable quilt that was a childhood favorite—found in every household and wrapped around us during cozy moments—this print reflects the warmth and security of those memories.
Checks and stripes, our forever love, hold a special place in each collection. We continuously explore these patterns, reimagining them with every new release, bringing our own unique version to life.
bougainvillea print
The design process revolved around translating the emotional narrative of plucking fresh flowers for our grandparents' prayers into a print.This led us to observe bougainvillea and hibiscus at different stages of its life cycle, capturing moments of vibrant bloom and gentle decay.
The journey took us down memory lane, evoking memories of sun-drenched afternoons spent with family, surrounded by lush blooms outside our homes.
After several explorations with color and composition, we chose hues of blue and ochre yellow, perfectly balancing the contrast between the cold act of withering and warmth of fresh blossoms.
INSPIRATION GALLERY
A dedicated month at our hand block printing workshop, where we explored new techniques; overdyed our prints to achieve unmatched effect. We pushed the boundaries of traditional hand block printing, infusing each piece with a unique character.
A significant highlight of this collection is our use of Kora fabric—a long-held vision that we are excited to bring to life. By choosing not to pre-treat the fabric with chemicals, the fabric served as a pure, untainted canvas for our designs. This choice not only aligns with our commitment to reducing environmental impact but has also enhanced the authenticity and charm of our prints.
